POULTRY is Denmark’s oldest poultry brand. Our dedication to quality, consideration and animal welfare stems from our founder, Marie Pedersen – also called ‘Chicken Marie’. Back in 1952, Marie founded the former Vinderup Poultry Slaughterhouse, now ROSE POULTRY.
Marie was at the forefront of the industry and set new standards for breeding and quality and she had an eye for animal welfare and sustainability long before these became popular terms. That DNA lives on in ROSE POULTRY. Danish, local quality with consideration for animals and the environment was the most important thing then, and still is today. We make an effort to transform passion and professionalism into healthy and tasty products for both consumers and climate.
Today, we are Denmark’s largest chicken producer by number of slaughters. We produce quality chicken that is Danish throughout the entire production chain. Every single step in the production is carefully optimized for quality, safety, and well-being.
We can very proudly say that both of our production’s plants achieved the highest possible BRCG score for food safety in both 2023 and 2024. All our products are halal certified and because of many years of massive and targeted efforts, we have eradicated the occurrence of salmonella in Danish chickens, and today Danish chickens has special status in the EU as salmonella-free.
The well-being of our chickens is one of our highest priorities. Our Danish chicken producers are carefully selected according to their dedication to the good Danish traditions of high quality and great focus on animal welfare and well-being. We carefully monitor all stages of the chicken’s lives, and we can document their well-being.
