Handpicked luxury seafood
In 1900 a fourteen-year-old Dane, Anders Priess, set up a fish business in the harbour town of Glyngøre. Four generations of the Priess family built the house that followed. In 2024 the French van der Wees family acquired AquaPri, with the Priess family remaining as minority shareholders — the work continuing. Today AquaPri farms across both land-based facilities and sea cage sites in Denmark, controlling the entire production chain from egg until the fish is dispatched to our customers.

Products
• Rainbow Trout — from clean, low-salinity Danish coastal waters
• Trout Caviar — from our own broodstock, exported worldwide
• Pike Perch (Zander) — farmed year-round in our state-of-the-art RAS facility in Gamst, Vejen
We farm approximately 6,000 tonnes of Rainbow Trout per year. Our trout begin life at our inland hatcheries in Jutland. Around half are raised to harvest entirely on land, while the other half are transferred after two years to our sea cage sites in the low-salinity coastal waters of Zealand, Lolland and Falster, where they spend a further seven to eight months before harvest. All trout are processed at our Aarsøsund plant (EU approval DK4731EU). Our Trout Caviar — from broodstock we control — is sought after worldwide for its colour, texture and flavour.
Our pike perch is farmed in a fully recirculated system that makes it parasite-free and suitable fresh for sushi and sashimi — without freezing. Four controlled spawning cycles per year deliver consistent, uniform supply with a six-hour water-to-dispatch window: buyers can plan around our schedule, not the season. The fish has firm, bright white flesh with a delicate texture and a high natural protein content. AquaPri pike perch is on the WWF seafood green list, and ASC pike perch certification is underway.
Certified quality, full traceability
Every product is traceable from egg to finished fish and processed to strict Danish and EU food safety standards. More than half of our trout is ASC certified, with pike perch certification underway.
Fish health is a priority. At AquaPri we ensure our fish are healthy by securing:
• optimal nutrition throughout the production cycle.
• a healthy rearing environment under constant monitoring.
• prompt and appropriate treatment when needed.
We take our responsibility for our farmed fish — and for the natural environment — very seriously.
