Amanda Seafoods, established in 1916 under the brand “555”, was one of the first producers of canned seafood in Denmark. A pioneering role which together with a persistent focus on high quality, exquisite taste and sustainability made “555” and later “Amanda” to a well-known trademark everywhere. In the mid 1950’s the company invented the product: pressed cod roe in cans. This was the beginning of an adventure and a huge success – in Denmark and abroad.
Today Amanda Seafoods A/S is a lot more than pressed cod roe. Our retail assortments of chilled, frozen and canned seafoods have become a great success. The same products especially suited for the foodservice market are also available and of course we offer flexible solutions for our industrial customers as well. Our wide range of products of cod roe, mackerel, tuna, cod liver, kippers, saithe, haddock and salmon gives you endless possibilities. Amanda is our premium brand. However, we are also preferred supplier of private labels. We take great pride in developing new products or variants in close co-operation with our customers.
Innovation
Our innovative Develop Department works closely together with our sales team to meet the demands in the market. Seafood Cold Cuts in four variants, Seafood Spreads in five variants and Fish Sausages are some of our latest inventions at Amanda Seafoods A/S.
Quality and environment
Food safety has high priority at Amanda.. All production lines are IFS, BRC and MSC certified. The factory is equipped with state-of-the-art production facilities and the packaging of non-perishables is almost fully automatic. Amanda Seafoods’ Quality Department ensures on a daily basis that the company’s quality control system always meet the requirements and EU legislation. At Amanda we attach great importance to environmental care. We recycle most of our fish waste, packages and sludge. Cooling water is re-used.
